Hi ACB readers!
It’s Monday again and it’s time for a weekend recap. This weekend was super relaxing for my tribe. We didn’t do much really, except just try to have fun, hang out together, work around the house. I hope you had yourselves a wonderful + relaxing weekend!
Friday –since I typically wake up super early in the morning to start my day, I was able to get some work in for the blog by styling a few flatlays. After work, I had a Skype call with my Mom and we talked about how much we missed each other and can’t wait to see each other, especially her–she misses Lady A! Before I knew it it was already time to pick up my little girl from daycare.
OMG, so check it out, after picking her up we tried to go to the mall to have her earrings put back in. (it fell off at school) and since she’s too traumatized from the pain of getting it pierced a year ago, she absolutely refuses to let anyone, myself included, near her to get it put back in. I am worried because I don’t want her piercing to close back up AGAIN! But she doesn’t understand, sigh, and I really don’t know what to do. Anyway, so as I get to the parking lot, put my truck in park, turn off the ignition and take the keys out, I go to unbuckle her and all of a sudden my car started rolling backwards. Of course, I was terrified and activated the emergency brakes. After waiting a few minutes for AAA, the battery technician said it was not the battery. So I had to get a tow and after waiting nearly an hour, the tow guy came and towed us to the shop. Sigh, oh, what a stressful way to start off the weekend!
No car=Chinese delivery + movie night in!
Saturday was uneventful, well, not quite. I edited photos from an anniversary party I shot a couple of weeks ago. I also edited photos from our trip to New York City. Later I spent the day outside mowing the lawn, trimming the hedges, and tending to the garden—watering, weeding, etc. I captured everything on Snapchat. (BTW, you can add me on SC: alwayscreatingblog).
Car is still in the shop so no hot yoga. Mama was not happy, but it was alright since I spent a good four hours working in the nearly 95-degree weather outside!
Sunday –we were invited to hangout by the pool and of course we couldn’t say no, as if! I waited to let her in on the plan to avoid the constant asking of when we can go to the pool party. That’s the thing about preschoolers, as soon as they know there is fun to be had they will not stop asking until said fun happens. It can get exhausting answering the same question all weekend. So I told her about an hour before we had to go, so that got her all excited and more susceptible to helping get herself dressed and ready. Let me tell you, she was changed into bathing suit, flip flops, and packed her favorite water toys before I could even finish packing the pool bag with water gear, change of clothes and snacks! Hey, mom’s gotta do what a mom’s gotta do! LOL!
It was at said pool party that I accidentally fell into the shallow end of the pool (3FT), landed on my right foot and sprained my ankle. It hurt like a B.I.T.C.H.! (Spelling another thing parents do, sorry). Overall, it was like I said earlier, a relaxing weekend (stressful but good). I’m hoping my ankle heals up quick so I can returned to my regularly scheduled life! Please send me some positive vibes!
What are your personal or professional goals for this week? Anything you’re looking forward to the most this week?
