It’s been a full week since we returned from our family vacation to Houston, Tex., where we spent Thanksgiving with mi Madre and I’m just finally starting to ween myself off vacation mode. We did a lot of eating, of course, but we also went sightseeing in Downtown Houston, the Houston Zoo, Galveston Island (because wherever there is a body of water, we must go-see), and we had some amazing eats. I’m talking Texas BBQ at Rudy’s and some good seafood eats at Pappadeaux. Below are a few snapshots of our time… our postcard moments from the Lone Star state!
Downtown Houston
Houston Zoo
Houston Zoo (6200 Hermann Park Dr, Houston, TX 77030), was a magical place for my Little A since she had not been to a zoo since she was probably one year old. I’ll be honest: I was more excited to the elephants–they are so magical–loved them so much! We saw some monkeys, sea lions, Tiger, Cougar, African Lions, and something else… it is a HUGE zoo and after only about two hours, she was ready to go. Definitely worth taking the kids out to experience. We loved it!
Seafood Lunch at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen
With several locations around Houston, my mom said this was the place to go for some New Orleans-style seafood. Service wasn’t that great, food was okay, it was rather loud for a Saturday afternoon lunch, but overall, they had great atmosphere. Their outdoor garden was my favorite.
