“Always greet the day with gratitude, humor and creativity.”
I’ve been thinking a lot about my life journey and how far I’ve come. You know how when you look back on your life and think, wow, I can’t believe I powered through that hurdle or that challenge. Yes, I’ve been thinking about moments, traumatic + stressful life moments that I had to literally grind through so I can come out shiny and happy. I’ve been on this amazing platform (Instagram) since 2012, which is right around the time I went through a very personal traumatic yet transformative period of my adult life.
I’ve since created a life that is incredibly beautiful, happy, joyous, and full of love. But I’ve also realized that not too many of you know the back story of my perfectly imperfect comeback story. If you’ve been following me from the beginning then you know I’ve shared bits + pieces on my blog.
I think it’s so important to share the parts of my journey that wasn’t always so perfect + happy so that you can better understand the paradigm shift that was a stepping stone to being at the top of my happy place. I feel compelled to teach through inspiration + sharing of my story so perhaps it will help someone out there.
Hi! I’m Glory. I’m a wife, mother and proud rescue pets owner. I was born and raised in Nigeria, West Africa where I lived until I was 16 years of age. In 1997, I moved with my family to America where we lived in the beautiful quintessential American suburban town just outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We had good times, hard times, great times, happy times, and shared many conversations and laughter and although it was incredibly difficult + challenging to adjust to life in my new country, we found respite in one another. After a year of feeling like I didn’t belong I finally made friends and they helped me cope with being a teenager in a new place.
There’s more to share during those formative years, but I want to go back stop here for now. Collect my thoughts, wipe my nostalgic tears, and then continue the story in another post.
What’s your name and where are you from?
