Fall is my favorite season and I absolutely love everything about it–cozy nights in by the fireplace, roast marshmallows in the yard over a nice fire while drinking a glass of red wine. And with Fall comes cooler temps and gorgeous foliage, especially here in Northern Virginia. I got married in the Fall, and I wanted to recreate some of the fuzzy warm feelings I had as a bride in a bridal styled shoot inspired by fall with tons of autumnal vibes.
I enlisted the help of my friend and wedding photographer, Raquel Arnold of RA Images to help me capture the shoot. But no bridal shoot is complete without a bride and a wedding dress, and that’s where my best friend, Cary, came in. Not only was she all in, she always brought her beautiful wedding dress from five years ago. She looked just as gorgeous as she did a few years ago (I know, I was in her wedding!). The inspiration for this shoot was truly about capturing the essence of Fall–from the cake table to the bridal bouquet, I wanted to keep it simple yet rich and lush, borrowing inspiration from the changing trees around us. I love gold and I literally could style with gold every single chance I get. It is so timeless, classic, and beautiful and it’s a great way to elevate your wedding style.
This was such an amazing experience and I loved that it took me just two days to plan, thirty minutes to style / setup, and just forty-five minutes to shoot (even in the midst of Fall rain!) Thank you so much to Raquel and Cary for braving the winds and cold to make this happen!
