I’m so excited to share that our wedding was featured on Modern Weddings blog! This was such a fantastic news to hear about the day after Christmas. I hope that our wedding will be able to inspire other couples who wish to have an intimate wedding with all the luxuries of a wedding and sharing those joyous wedding moments with their closest friends and family.
Here’s the full post from Modern Weddings…
The bride’s stunning mid-century modern home was an inspiration for Glory & Ron’s modern boho chic wedding, ultimately held at Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner.
How they met: We met through a mutual friend, my daughter’s father. Years later we ran into each other at a party and found out we were both single. Our relationship was hugely based on a friendship in the beginning because I was a single working mom focused on raising my daughter and was not looking for a relationship at the time. In fact, he asked me out several times before I gave in and said yes to a dinner date with him. While on the date, I remembered just being uncomfortable because I hadn’t been on a date in years and was overwhelmed with a feeling of guilt because I wanted to be home with my daughter. It took some time before I agreed to another date with him, but he persisted in the most respectful way; he was extremely patient with me to come around to wanting to go on a date. But there was a pivotal turning point in our relationship that allowed me to give him a second chance. It was 1:30 a.m. on a cold, snowy winter night and my daughter had come down with a high fever and the first person I thought to call was Ron. He lived about 35 minutes away from me at the time and without hesitation, he said he would be right over with some medicine for her.
From the bride: We were engaged for nine months after our beautiful proposal on Christmas Day last year (2016). I knew I wanted an outdoor wedding with just our immediate family and closest friends. We did not want a large wedding; we both are private individuals so keeping it small was a priority. We mostly wanted friends that have been there through our life milestones. Our total wedding guests were 40 people and I had this crazy idea of hosting our reception party in our backyard.
